My family recently adopted a one year old Dogo Argentino from a shelter. Hes a snow white dog with brown spots that make him look like the roasted marshmallow Jelly Belly! Hes truly beautiful, but very big! We adopted him on a Monday night, but by Wednesday, my father was threatening to return him. He continuously jumped on each of us, and treated us like chew toys! Its hard to blame him because were his fourth owners and hes still scarred from his shock collar that his previous owners made him wear on his shaven neck.
My mother frantically called the Crestwood PetSmart to ask about dog training. She was put in touch with an angel named Karen. She assured my mom that everything was going to be okay. Karen invited my mom and our new dog to come and meet her. After spending a couple of hours with Karen, my mom was convinced that everything was going to be okay. My family and I took our new dog to beginner dog training the next night. Karen suggested we rename him because he didnt know his name! We appropriately named him Chance.
After spending a month with Karen in dog training, Chances behavior improved dramatically. This past week, Chance graduated onto intermediate training! If it werent for the dog whisperer and true animal lover, Karen, we might have taken Chance back and we would of have had holes in our hearts where Chance filled them with love and adventures!
