Therapy Dogs Skills Class
6 weeks $240
Dogs must have completed Beginner Obedience (or by prior approval by Stacey).
Dogs must be social with other dogs and people to participate in the program. Shy or fearful dogs will need prior training before being considered for the program.
Class focus: Therapy Dog Test Prep and Maintenance classes help you and your dog prepare for animal-assisted activity (AAA) commonly known as pet therapy. These classes will acquaint you with different aspects of AAA and help you develop the team skills required to visit people safely and effectively. Precise obedience performance isnt required, however the handler must have control of their dog while visiting, including a reliable sit, down and stay. Delta Society Pet Partners® Evaluations are given on Sundays.
